Engineering and Architecture

Research Institute in Engineering (INII, for its acronym in Spanish)

It is a multidisciplinary unit dedicated to systematic research in the field of Engineering, Architecture, and Computer Science and Information Engineering. It works focused on research, training, and provision of specialized services in the areas of Seismic Engineering, Forest Resources, Maritime and Fluvial Engineering, Mechatronics, Metrology and Quality, pulp and paper, sustainable design, audiovisual product design and specialized information services.

Objectives

  • To perform high level research in the Engineering area, specifically in the areas of Seismic Engineering, Forest Resources, Maritime Engineering, Metrology and Quality, Robotics, and Control Systems

Main functions

  • To develop basic and applied research activities to promote the country’s development in Engineering
