Central American Population Research Center (CCP, for its acronym in Spanish)

To research the nature, determinants and consequences of the state, dynamics, composition, and spatial distribution of the population in the national and Central American areas as an input to the academic and basic development for the decision-making and the elaboration of public policies.

Objectives

  • To research the nature, determinants, and consequences of the state, dynamics, composition, and spatial distribution of the population in national and Central American areas.
  • To contribute to the solution of population problems in Central America, especially those that infringe upon reproductive rights, equity in health and survival, social integration of minorities and migrants.
  • To disseminate information and look for exchange of knowledge about the population of Central America
  • To train Central American leaders and professionals on population issues and technologies to improve population study and policy formulation and evaluation
  • To promote interdisciplinary approaches in population study and training.
  • To produce knowledge about changes in the dynamics, composition and distribution of the population and its economic, social, and environmental consequences.
  • To contribute to the democratization of access to information through the production and dissemination of timely information about dynamics, composition and distribution of the population.
