The Gender Studies and Training Division of the Ministry of Women and Gender Equity sends an invitation to participate in a tender to the Hemispheric University Consortium. The tender will be open from today until next Friday, November 26 at 11:59 pm local time in Chile.
The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC) together with the Gender Studies and Training Division of the Ministry of Women and Gender Equity of the Government of Chile invite you to participate in the bidding of funds for the execution of the research project "The Untapped Economic Potential of including Women in the Digital Economy in the APEC Region".
This project has financing of up to $ 30,000 USD for its execution, having as main objectives:
(I) Identify and examine gaps in internet access and use of technologies that limit the participation of women of diverse origins, identities, and experiences in the digital economy throughout the APEC Region,
(II) Estimate the potential economic and social gain from eliminating such barriers and
(III) Highlight the policies that have successfully contributed to closing these gaps, as well as develop recommendations to lead to the inclusion of women in the digital economy, especially in light of the efforts for the post-COVID-19 economic recovery.
Consulting firms, or others, are invited to develop a research work in no more than 30 pages in English that includes an econometric model through which it is possible to determine the negative value (cost) of not including women in the digital economy.
Additionally, in April 2022 a two (2) day Virtual Workshop will be held in which the preliminary results of the study will be analyzed with APEC member economies and experts. It is expected that the executing firm of this project will participate in this workshop taking notes of the good practices shared by the present economies, and prepare a summary of no more than 15 pages, 5 on the best practices collected in the Workshop and 10 on the resulting recommendations. , which must be subsequently included in the final delivery of the investigative work.
