It is with great pleasure that we announce the 3rd edition of Abu Dhabi University's flagship International Conference on Advancing Sustainable Futures (ICASF 2025), proudly indexed by Scopus. Organized in collaboration with the IREG Observatory on Academic Ranking and Excellence, and held under the esteemed patronage of H.E. Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Cabinet Member and Minister of Tolerance, the conference will take place from December 9th to 11th, 2025 at the ultra-luxurious Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi, UAE.

As one of the world's most iconic and elite venues, Emirates Palace embodies excellence, prestige, and grandeur—a truly fitting backdrop for a global gathering of distinguished academics, policymakers, and industry leaders. Under the theme "Shaping the Future: Synergies Between Nature, Technology, and Society," ICASF 2025 promises to be an exceptional forum for advancing sustainable thought leadership on a world stage.

The ICASF conference series has rapidly grown into a globally recognized platform for advancing dialogue, collaboration, and innovation in sustainability and technology. It has previously attracted over 700 participants from 92 countries associated with Scopus proceedings and journal publications. We are proud to share that the ICASF 2023 conference proceedings are published across 3 Scopus-indexed volumes by Springer, a testament to the high quality and impact of the research presented, and we are currently in the process of preparing the ICASF 2024 proceedings for publication, following the success of last year's conference

The Global Summit on Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (ROBOTICS2025) aims to become the leading annual conference in fields related to Robotics, Artificial Intelligence,and Machine Learning. This conference will be held in Valencia, Spain from April 10-12,2025.

Dr. Oldemar Rodríguez, prominent academic from the University of Costa Rica will be one of the three keynote speakers

The AYY Seed Grant is for funding up to $50,000 to enhance existing partnerships between University  of Maryland Baltimore (UMB) and  Universidad de Costa Rica (UCR) researchers, emphasizing international, comparative, and bidirectional research. The Seed Grant requires both UMB and UCR investigators, and funds must be disbursed to both PIs and institutions.
Seed Grants support researchers in developing and amplifying innovative projects within various domains of aging research, including clinical, psychosocial, behavioral, epidemiology, public health, and bench science areas. This could encompass a wide range of areas, from the biological processes of aging to the socio-cultural and psychological aspects of growing older. The grants should generate preliminary data or evidence of feasibility for larger studies and impactful publications. These awards may also facilitate the incorporation of community partner organizations into the research projects.

The University of Toronto (U of T) is providing seed funds to support collaborative education and research initiatives through a Call for Proposals. U of T is committed to the positive impact that universities can have through international partnerships and, through this Call, is supporting new or existing collaborations on Human Migration, and/or on Climate Change and Sustainability.   

Between three (3) and five (5) joint initiatives will be selected for a funding period of one (1) year. The proposals will be assessed and recommended for selection by a peer review committee appointed by the Office of the Vice-President, International (OVPI) at U of T.

The DAAD AInet Fellowship is awarded twice a year to a group of outstanding international early career researchers in the field of artificial intelligence. Awardees will be invited to join the Postdoctoral Networking Tour in Artificial Intelligence (Postdoc-NeT-AI), a two-step networking program that offers participants the opportunity to interact face-to-face with leading researchers in Germany, with the aim of initiating collaborations, and creating new research and career opportunities. Additionally, awardees are included in the DAAD AInet Fellows & Alumni Network, offering long-term access to German AI research, and bringing together bright researchers from all around the world.

I am pleased to inform you that UNESCO is organizing the 2023 Future Designer International Innovation Design Awards (IIDA) & Science for SDGs Innovation Contest, in the framework of the UNESCO-UNITRAIN Youth Competence Development Project (UNESCO YCD project).

The IIDA Contest aims to showcase and promote innovative and sustainable designs and proposals from talented young individuals all around the world. The primary focus is to support and raise awareness of the importance of science in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to build more equitable and resilient societies. The UNESCO-YCD project is part of UNESCO's efforts to build capacity in basic sciences and engineering.

All aspiring young designers and innovators are invited to participate. The call is open to junior college, undergraduate and graduate students. The IIDA call for application is now open, and applications must be received by 30 September 2023. Eligible applications will be reviewed by the international IIDA jury, which consists of renowned professors and industry experts. The winners will be announced on 31 October 202, and their achievements will be celebrated at an award ceremony to be held at the end of the year, when UNESCO and the IIDA Organizing Committee will give ? them certificates to honour their remarkable talents.

The 5 workshops will be held over the span of one week: November 6 - 10, 2023.

The Hemispheric Student Dialogues on SDGs provide an opportunity for virtual integration between students from Hemispheric University Consortium (HUC) member universities. Hosted by HUC & USFQ, the Hemispheric Student Dialogues on SDGs will consist of 5 workshops (ideally within 5 courses) over a week-long period.

Using the annual key challenge, "Climate Change, Sustainability and Resilience", and the aligned Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a framework, 5 selected faculty will lead one 2-4 hour workshop each (divided in 2 or 3 sessions depending on the faculty's availability) to facilitate dialogue between their own students and students from across the consortium.

Each workshop will develop a virtual deliverable which will then be showcased on the HUC website.
